cashmere’s warm but not that warm

Let me explain. As I read the 41 degree high temperature for the day yesterday I decided I would be fine without a bulky jacket. I could brave it, right? Wrong. My ginormous marketing exam (that I neglected to remember) kept me on campus until 6, and when the sun sets at 5pm (thanks Daylight Savings), it gets BITTER cold. After my bummer of a test, I trekked all the way across campus to then trek all the way to my apartment, in the dark, with only a single layer of cashmere to keep me warm.

I feel like I’ve been neglecting SO many things in my life recently, and as I was freezing to death on the walk home, I decided to make a mental list. My list included the things I wanted to start changing and accomplishing, starting with (1) remembering a coat on chilly days (even when I don’t think I need it).

As I finally warmed up in my cozy apartment, I wrote some letters, actually put them in the mailbox (why is that the hardest part of mailing letters?!), finished some homework, and caught up with my family over the phone. I rekindled my closest relationship (with my planner of course), and decided I wouldn’t let myself sink to the famed “sophomore slump”. With only a week until Thanksgiving and a few more after that until finals, I’m more committed than ever to beating the slump. In school and in life. Here’s to finishing 2015 with a bang!
